The CMS-GP232T Advantage from American Signal Company represents the latest advances in all-LED changeable message sign technology. The ability to furnish timely, pertinent, and dynamic traffic information to the motorist via alphanumeric text and/or graphic displays provides the engineer with a measure of traffic control, incident management, and congestion mitigation unmatched by other informational systems.

The CMS-GP232T Advantage is a fully programmable, portable message sign that can function in incident management, work zone traffic control, and/or radar equipped speed control situations where space is a consideration.

The CMS-GP232T Advantage is a small, all-LED, full matrix changeable message sign utilizing wide viewing angle 30o ITE amber LED's that is trailer mounted, provides for solar charging of the primary power supply batteries, and optionally may be remotely operable and/or interfaced with radar for use in traffic calming applications. The sign is capable of displaying one, two, or three line alphanumeric messages in six font sizes-number of lines per message dependent upon font size and message content. Additionally, the sign is capable of displaying graphic messages consisting of any of twenty seven MUTCD Part VI construction zone signs, or any of the MUTCD Part VI arrow board functions. The CMS-GP232T Advantage has the memory capacity to retain 199 pre-programmed messages, 199 user-generated messages, and 250 message sequences (up to six messages/sequence) in addition to the graphic MUTCD messages mentioned previously. The brightness, or intensity, of the LED display may be controlled manually, or alternatively may be regulated automatically via a photosensitive circuit that adjusts the LED intensity in response to ambient illumination, thus assuring superior visibility and legibility under all lighting conditions. The small size (32"X72") and light weight (less than 100 pounds) provides for the CMS-GP232T Advantage sign case to be readily transferred from the trailer to other vehicles, thus enhancing the utility of the sign.
The narrow footprint of the CMS-GP232T Advantage trailer (less than six feet) enhances the utility of the sign for use on residential streets, urban roadways, or major highways where encroachment into travel lanes is a concern.
The menu based programming protocol for the CMS-GP232T ADVANTAGE is identical to that for all other AMSIG all-LED T300 Series & Advantage Series changeable message signs.
Optionally, the trailer mounted CMS-GP232T Advantage may be operated remotely through the use of central host software and thus provide compatibility with existing ITS systems. The optional technologies include, but are not necessarily limited to, landline, cellular and CDPD/TCPIP (Internet Protocol). Additionally, the sign may be utilized in traffic calming/speed awareness applications through the use of an optional radar interface. In this application, the sign is capable of not only displaying cautionary message(s), but of also displaying actual vehicular speeds for those exceeding the user selectable "threshold" speed.
