Stationary Changeable Message Signs

Stationary changeable message signs manufactured by American Signal Company represent the latest advances in all-LED changeable message sign technology. The ability to furnish timely, pertinent, and dynamic traffic information to the motorist via alphanumeric text and/or graphic displays provides the engineer with a measure of traffic control, incident management, and congestion mitigation unmatched by other roadway informational systems.

Stationary changeable message signs utilizing all-LED technology provide a cost-effective means of delivering roadway information that is characterized by low operational and maintenance costs while providing superior visibility and legibility. The all-LED configuration consists of printed circuit display panels with embedded driver electronics that precludes the necessity of external driver circuitry and thus enhances reliability. Sign displays may be characterized by individual and separate characters in each line, by a continuous matrix in each line, or by a full matrix configuration. Individual character sizes in a five by seven (5X7) font range from twelve inches (12") in height with a commensurate legibility distance of six hundred feet (600') to full display size characters and/or symbols with legibility/recognition distances exceeding one half (1/2) mile.

Stationary changeable message signs may be fabricated utilizing any of AMSIG's standard sign cases from the comprehensive line of portable signs, or may be custom sized to meet individual and project specific requirements. Maintenance access to stationary sign displays comprised of AMSIG's standard portable sign cases is accomplished from the front of the sign, while custom designed /sized sign cases may be fabricated to provide either front, rear, or walk-in access.
AMSIG's stationary signs may be remotely operable and incorporated into Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) utilizing AMSIG's NTCIP compatible AMSIGNET™ via landline, fiber optics, or wireless telecommunications technology. The AMSIGNET™ remote software is windows based and may provide access to many signs, either on an addressable and individual basis, or to several signs comprising an informational network simultaneously.
AMSIG stationary changeable message signs, as well as any AMSIG appropriately equipped portable sign, may also be operated remotely utilizing the proprietary, windows compatible AMSIGCOM™ software Easyhost™. The AMSIGCOM™ software provides a means of two-way communication with and control of all aspects of a sign's operation system, and provides the capability of communicating with multiple signs simultaneously.
